YOUNG PERSON'S BURSARY

 

APPLICATION FOR YOUNG PERSON’S BURSARY

One of the aims of the 6th International Symposium on Emerging and Re-emerging Pig Diseases Organizing Committee is to support Young Researchers and help them attending this event in Barcelona. In order to achieve this, the Symposium will offer Young Person’s Bursaries only to the presenting authors of the accepted abstracts who are aged 35 or under and are still in training (enrolled in a PhD program).

The application is available to anyone fulfilling the above criteria without geographic restrictions! The bursary will be up to 800 € but all applicants must be registered in advance.


APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS AND SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION

The name of the presenting author MUST match the name of the applicant.

Requests to be considered as a bursary applicant after the abstract submission deadline will not be considered.

Bursary applications must be made on the Young Person’s Bursary application form.

The following supporting documents have to be sent by e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it (Alternatively by fax: +34.932.387.488) after abstract submission but no later than deadline for abstract submission (February 28, 2011).

  1. Proof of age: a clear copy of your ID, Passport or Drivers license indicating your date of birth (should be in the Latin alphabet).
  2. Proof of trainee status: A recommended letter signed by a relevant person in the pig sector/industry/academy confirming that you are a trainee.
  3. Updated curriculum vitae (maximum 2 pages).

 

Note:

  • The Committee will automatically decline all bursary requests that do not conform to the above terms.
  • Notifications of bursaries granted will be sent close after the notification of the abstracts acceptance (April 10, 2011).
  • Name changes of presenting authors (different than at the time of the abstract submission) will only be accepted if made at the time of the submission of the supporting documentation.
  • The Committee will grant bursaries only to those presenting authors who will attest that they are not being sponsored or covered by any other source in order to attend the 6th International Symposium on Emerging and Re-emerging Pig Diseases.
